STRENGTHENING TENDERLOIN SMALL BUSINESSES

This month, TLCBD and our community and city partners hosted the Tenderloin Small Business Resource Fair at the Phoenix Hotel, bringing together 18 organizations committed to supporting local businesses. Attendees connected with free and low-cost services ranging from grants, loans, and marketing support to legal and financial help, consulting, and City programs. By creating direct connections between business owners and service providers, the fair helped strengthen the Tenderloin’s small business community and expand access to the resources needed for long-term success.
MAYOR LURIE JOINS SAFE PASSAGE FOR THE SECOND YEAR
The Tenderloin is home to the highest density of children of any neighborhood in San Francisco — and making sure they can get to and from school safely is at the heart of our Safe Passage program. On the first day of school, Mayor Lurie joined our Safe Passage team for the second year in a row, walking alongside students and volunteers on their daily routes. His participation sends a powerful message that the City cares about the Tenderloin’s families and stands with the community partners who make Safe Passage possible.
We’re grateful to Mayor Lurie for his continued support and hope to see leadership like this remain a lasting commitment to the children of our neighborhood.
CLOSING OUT SUMMER TOGETHER

Our staff picnic has become a special tradition, and this year it marked the close of summer in the Tenderloin. Staff came together for lunch and activities like basketball and volleyball before gearing up for the busy season ahead. With school now back in session, our Safe Passage team is on the routes again, our park stewards are welcoming youth after class, and our staff across programs are working to keep the neighborhood safe, vibrant, and supportive for families.
