The Tenderloin welcomes people of all ages, races, religions, genders, sexual orientations, experiences, and circumstances. When we say “neighbors,” we are referring to our neighbors including people experiencing homelessness. We believe our neighbors deserve pathways and opportunities to thrive.

ABOUT THE TLCBD
The Tenderloin Community Benefit District (TLCBD) is a nonprofit organization whose core purpose is to lead the evolution of the Tenderloin into a vibrant community for all. TLCBD develops leaders who actively improve both daily conditions and the neighborhood’s long-term trajectory for residents, businesses, and visitors. Its efforts include street cleaning, public safety initiatives, community events, and advocacy for local improvements.
TLCBD collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders, including local community members, organizations, businesses, and local government, to address the unique challenges and opportunities within the Tenderloin while strengthening the neighborhood’s existing sense of pride and belonging.

WHAT IS A CBD?
A Community Benefit District (CBD) is a formally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in a defined region. CBDs vary in the supplemental services they provide, such as public safety, maintenance, marketing, and capital improvements. The efforts are funded by a special assessment paid by the property owners in the district. A CBD is a public/private partnership, which allows governing bodies and property/business owners to unite in a collective effort for the maintenance, development, and promotion of their commercial district.
