DIA DE LOS MUERTOS RECAP

On November 1st, TLCBD hosted its fifth annual Día de los Muertos celebration along the Golden Gate Greenway—transforming three blocks into a vibrant space of remembrance, culture, and community. TLCBD, in partnership with Into the Streets, brought thousands together to honor loved ones and celebrate life through traditional ofrendas, Aztec dancers, lucha libre performances, family activities, and local food vendors.
YOUTH VIOLENCE PRESS CONFERENCE

On November 7th, Supervisor Mahmood and the San Francisco Board of Supervisors passed a resolution urging the creation of a Tenderloin Youth Violence Prevention Program to establish coordinated, neighborhood-based prevention efforts. In support of this initiative, TLCBD joined community leaders, city officials, and local organizations for a press conference in the Tenderloin focused on youth violence prevention. The event highlighted our shared commitment to building pathways for safety, healing, and opportunity for youth ages 12–24, reducing violence through sustained, trauma-informed, and community-driven strategies.
PARTNERING WITH STUDENTS AT USF

TLCBD recently partnered with the USF Malloy Group, a team of MBA students from the University of San Francisco. Through this effort, students worked on a project that provided them with valuable hands-on experience while offering TLCBD fresh ideas and perspectives. In turn, this collaboration reflects one of our core values—connection—as we continue to build bridges between the Tenderloin community and the next generation of local leaders. Through this partnership, the USF students gained deeper insight into the Tenderloin’s unique strengths, challenges, and spirit.
KARAOKE BATTLE
This year’s Karaoke Battle brought out the best of San Francisco’s community spirit, and the Tenderloin showed up in full force. Our team delivered a bold, creative performance that captured the room’s attention and reminded everyone why the Tenderloin is home to some of the city’s most passionate voices. With more than a dozen teams and a packed house cheering on every act, the night was filled with humor, heart, and plenty of friendly competition. And while we didn’t walk away with the trophy this time, we had an incredible time showing up for our community and sharing a night of pure fun with partners across the city.
