A SPRING CELEBRATION OF COMMUNITY AND COMMITMENT
TLCBD’s annual Spring Soiree was a truly special moment for the Tenderloin communities we serve! Celebrating the 15th anniversary of our Safe Passage program, the event kicked off with a second line parade through the streets, culminating at the iconic Phoenix Hotel. This vibrant celebration brought together 200+ children, musicians, performers, our dedicated staff, SFPD, past and present volunteers, the founding mothers and youth of Safe Passage, residents, community leaders, and elected officials, all united in their support and commitment to safety for all children in the Tenderloin. For a moment – everyone and everything paused in the Tenderloin to experience pure joy throughout our streets. TLCBD remains dedicated to ensuring that this sense of joy, safety, and community is a daily reality for every child, family, senior, and small business in the Tenderloin.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, turning this event into an annual Tenderloin tradition. Special appreciation goes to our city’s leaders and elected representatives who honored Safe Passage’s significant impact by presenting us with resolutions from local to state levels, affirming the program’s crucial role in enhancing our community’s wellbeing.

Thank you helpful Safe Passage
You don’t let the car cross
You say “Good morning and have a good school”
Thank you kind Safe Passage
You help me when I walk by myself
You like to help each other
Thank you Safe Passage
You love all the people
You help me as police
Thank you funny Safe Passage
You make me smile when I am sad
I say “Good morning, thank you so much, have a good day!”
Thank you friendly Safe Passage
You come with me when I walk by myself
You are kind and going with kids
Thank you brave Safe Passage
You help me when there is a fight, you come across the street I hope you keep helping the people and kids
SAFE PASSAGE UNDER TATIANA ALABSI’S LEADERSHIP
This month, we shine a spotlight on Tatiana Alabsi, an exceptional manager of our Safe Passage program who was recently featured in an Associated Press article. Tatiana stands as a central figure in the Tenderloin Community Benefit District’s mission to create a safer, more welcoming neighborhood. Every morning, she puts on her Safe Passage vest and becomes a beacon of stability and safety for our community’s children and families. Her constant smile and unwavering dedication not only uplift the spirits of everyone she meets but also strengthen our collective efforts to provide a nurturing and secure environment. Tatiana’s relentless commitment makes a profound difference every day, making her a true embodiment of hope and resilience in the Tenderloin.
TENDERLOIN MAY COMMUNITY EVENTS
We are so proud our @psychedradiosf Tenderloin Music and Arts Festival 2024 which will be taking three weeks from now throughout several venues in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District. All of these 12 shows are completely FREE and all of the bands, musicians, acts, drag queens, poets, DJs and writers are LOCAL. That, because we believe in the San Francisco and Oakland music and art scenes and are here to support them. Also join the Arab Women & Youth Voice Group and Chef Lobenh Alabsi for a live cooking class.
