Shelter-in-place doesn’t mean you have to eat frozen TV dinners every day. With the help of the Tenderloin Merchants Association, we’ve come up with three simple ways you can support local businesses.
1.) Most of your favorite restaurants in the Tenderloin are still OPEN for delivery and takeout…order something!
Below is a current list of open restaurants in the neighborhood for you to support and enjoy. Give these restaurants a call or look for them on your favorite delivery app, just search for the Tenderloin neighborhood. Email info(at)tlcbd.org to have a location added to the list.
2.) Support Local Businesses AND Show Some Love for the Clean Team
If you’re in the neighborhood you may have already seen that the Clean Team is still actively working out in the field. While there are a number of ways to show your appreciation, one way to do this while also supporting local businesses is to make a donation or provide a lunch for the team. The TLCBD staff will work with local businesses to provide catered lunches (an average for a full team lunch is $240, but anything helps). Make a tax deductible donation here.
3.) Give through the ‘Save Tenderloin Small Businesses’ GoFundMe Page
As you know the COVID-19 health crisis has impacted all of our daily lives but has hit small businesses in the Tenderloin especially hard. There are 300 small businesses in the Tenderloin, one-third of which are restaurants, mostly owned by immigrants and working class people. Help support these businesses through the Tenderloin Merchants Association.
