On April 29, 2019, Supervisor Matt Haney held a rally and press conference for Clean & Healthy Streets. Find links to the press coverage below.
Alongside residents, community organizations, and small businesses, Supervisor Haney released a 10-point plan for clean and healthy streets in D6 . The rally, held in view of Boeddeker Park and, fittingly, next to one of the Tenderloin’s Pit Stops, featured a number of speakers including residents and community organizations, including remarks by TLCBD Director of Communications and Clean Engagement, Fernando Pujals.
Supervisor Haney called for an updated, comprehensive plan to ensure that Tenderloin, SOMA and Downtown have clean and healthy streets and sidewalks, including 24-hour Pit Stop access.
The 10-point plan includes the following:
#1: More Trash Cans, Better Trash Cans
#2: Expand Public Bathrooms, Expand to 24 Hours
#3: “Micro-Neighborhoods” Cleaning
#4: Regular Deep, Pressure Washing on Our Sidewalks
#5: Doggie Waste Bags and Receptacles!
#6: Beautify the Streets and Sidewalks — More Art, More color.
#7: Put Syringe Disposal Boxes Where They Are Needed
#8: Keep Private Dumpsters and Cans Inside or Locked
#9: Real, Consistent Independent Data and Accountability
#10: A More Responsive and Effective 311
