Tilden Tuesday Art Exhibitions at TILDEN HOTEL
Date: On view all month
Location: Tilden Hotel, 345 Taylor Street
Check out colorful, story-telling abstraction at Tilden Hotel. The hotel lobby’s pop-up art gallery is showcasing local artist Laurie Blessen and her featured works as part of its rotating art series that shines a light on San Francisco’s spirited creativity and engaging community while directly supporting local artists; this is also known as Tilden Art Program. In the form of abstract color field print, Blessen’s works share a recurring motif of doors and windows, signaling how “light gets let in” and reinforces strength. She believes working in abstraction allows for true expression as colors have a voice and lines show movement. Guests interested in obtaining one of Blessen’s featured works are welcome to purchase a piece right from the lobby walls. More info

Location: EXIT Theatre, 156 Eddy Street, SF, CA

The tenth annual San Francisco Olympians Festival is a tapestry of Celtic mythology, as intricate as knot-work, and as brilliant as a freshly polished cauldron!
This year Exit Theatre’s debut 38 new plays by 36 writers, 17 of whom will be contributing written work to the festival for the first time! The plays range from shorts to one-acts and full-lengths, and each one explores a different legend or god from the mythology of Ancient Gaul, Britain, Ireland, and the legends of King Arthur. Though exclusively local in the past, the 2019 festival includes a number of non-Bay Area writers, brought into the festival for the first time to honor the roaming spirit of the Celts!
The 2019 festival is 12 nights from November 6 to the 23rd, Wednesday through Saturday. Audience members who attend more than four nights get the fifth free!
