TLCBD 2024 ANNUAL SPRING SOIREE
A BENEFIT FOR SAFE PASSAGE’S 15TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Thursday, May 2 | 4PM – 7PM | The Phoenix Hotel | San Francisco
Please join us on May 2nd for what is truly a community-wide celebration – 15 years of Safe Passage! TLCBD’s Safe Passage program is a neighborhood-wide response to a community-voiced need. In 2008, a group of mothers and youth went from meeting to meeting, organization to organization to demand safety for their children and peers. They named, founded, and designated the Safe Passage route. 15 years later this program is partially funded under the tax assessment, approved until 2035, which means dozens of Tenderloin residents will continue to lead and grow the program far into the future.
Our Spring Soiree event will begin with a sidewalk parade along the Safe Passage Route to gather community members in a celebratory safe walk to Phoenix Hotel.
Join us at Turk/Hyde Mini Park by 3:30pm to walk together!

w/ Special Guest Carla Short, Director of Public Works
At our recent TLCBD Block Safety Group Convening on April 4th, co-hosted with the Tenderloin Business Coalition at The Phoenix Hotel, we proudly announced the expansion of our cleaning efforts to every day of the week and welcomed the continuation of DPW’s Corridor Cleaner program. This initiative not only doubles our cleaning resources but also emphasizes the shared responsibility of maintaining our streets and sidewalks.
We were thrilled to have Carla Short, Director of San Francisco Public Works (DPW), join us, alongside Corey Jackson and Dominique Charles from DPW, to discuss topics such as street environmental services and outreach against illegal dumping. This gathering served as a reminder of the power of collaboration and collective action. As we move forward, we encourage all community stakeholders to engage actively in our efforts to create a cleaner, safer Tenderloin.
METRICS OF SUCCESS: CLEAN OPERATIONS, SAFE PASSAGE, AND PARKS NETWORK

In the latter half of 2023, our commitment to revitalizing the Tenderloin neighborhood has yielded substantial progress in cleanliness, safety, and park engagement. Through dedicated operations, we have significantly enhanced the daily lives of our community members, reinforcing our pledge to maintain a vibrant, safe, and welcoming environment for all.

TENDERLOIN APRIL COMMUNITY EVENTS
TLCBD is proud to help welcome back ‘I Love Tenderloin Week’ from April 21-27, 2024! This annual celebration, now in its second year, is a collaborative effort among local organizations, businesses, and city institutions that brings to life a series of events showcasing the Tenderloin’s rich cultural, culinary, and artistic heritage. Funded by the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development and coordinated with TLCBD’s Clean Team, this initiative is a testament to TLCBD and partners’ vision of fostering the neighborhood’s growth. The festivities kick off with TLCBD’s ‘Tenderloin Beautification Day,’ a community-led cleanup effort that embodies the neighborhood’s proactive approach to transformation and maintenance.
