In addition to several months of attendance at community meetings, resident outreach, surveying Taylor Street, hosting workshops, and canvasing businesses, Walk San Francisco and Tenderloin Safe Passage spent the last four weeks, with the help of the San Francisco Municipal Transit Agency (SFMTA), holding a series of pop-up tabling events gathering community input regarding the SFMTA’s Safer Taylor Street Project. Community members voted on their preferred design choice. From senior centers and food pantries, to parks and street corners, ambassadors from Walk San Francisco and Tenderloin Safe Passage gathered over 200 responses from the project area in the Tenderloin and Lower Nob Hill communities. This input was given over to the SFMTA who will use it to influence their final design which will be released in December. Thank you so much to Equator Coffee, Farm:Table, and George and Lennie coffee shops for their gracious donations for our morning tabling events.
Moreover, we are incredibly grateful to the community members who took the time to share their voice with us.
Stay tuned, in early 2018 SFMTA will release a design and Walk San Francisco and Tenderloin Safe Passage will be out sharing this information once again. Thank you to all who’ve participated and sharing your voice to influence this project.
