De Marillac Academy will host the 3rd Annual Neighborhood Night on Wednesday June 7th 5:30-7:30, at Yammer’s offices in Market Square, aka the Twitter building. Neighborhood Night is “a celebration of our community partners, the end of the school year at De Marillac Academy and you!”
Each year, Neighborhood Night honors a member of the community. Previous honorees include former SFPD Tenderloin Station Captain Jason Cherniss and Tenderloin neighborhood matriarch, activist and leader Eva Pirring.
This year, guests will honor Mike Anderer for his dedication and tireless work for our shared community. Anderer, who currently serves on the Tenderloin Community Benefit District Board of Directors, in addition to several other community advocate coalitions and groups, will be moving on to a new chapter in his professional life of service to providing tuition free education to low income communities as he helps to found a new school in the East Bay. He will be missed here in the Tenderloin, but his efforts will continue to be felt. Thank you for your dedication, leading example, and commitment.
