Title: Custodial Specialist
Part-Time: P/T 25 hours a week
Compensation: $22 / hourly
Reports to: Director of Clean Operations


The Custodial Specialist will help support Custodial Services for the Tenderloin Community Benefit District under the direction of the Director of Clean Operations. Work includes services for various building facilities as well as some individual residential units. This individual will participate in training on proper equipment use and safety procedures. Hours are set Monday-Friday, 5 pm to 10 pm, but this position must also be available to work weekends and select holidays.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Trash and recycling removal
  • Wiping down and sanitizing work surfaces
  • Cleaning, sanitizing and restocking restroom facilities
  • Sweeping, mopping, polishing and vacuuming floors
  • Organizing the custodial units and storage of all supplies and equipment
  • Completing minor repairs, like unclogging toilets, changing light bulbs
  • Notifying Supervisor when major repairs are needed
  • Securing facilities when completing cleaning rotation doors at the end of shift
  • Following safety rules and precautions
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.

Equipment & PPE:

  • Wears appropriate PPE and uniform
  • Uses common cleaning tools, equipment, and chemicals

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Custodial and / or cleaning experience is preferred
  • Follows written and verbal instructions
  • Works well independently and/or in a team and has strong time management skills
  • Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, bending, climbing and lifting up to 50 lbs

In compliance with TLCBD policies, all employees must show proof of being vaccinated for Covid 19. This individual is also required to pass a background check.
