I Love Tenderloin Week (ILTW) returns for its third year starting this Sunday, June 15, through Saturday, June 21. The weeklong celebration will feature more than two dozen events across the neighborhood, highlighting the Tenderloin’s culture, creativity, and small businesses.
From pop-ups and arts programming to youth-focused activities and Beautification Day, ILTW brings together residents, workers, and visitors to experience the best of the neighborhood. Programming begins with Sunday Streets on Golden Gate Avenue and continues throughout the week with events at Boeddeker Park, the Tenderloin Museum, Glide Memorial Church, the SF Main Library, and more.
TLCBD BEAUTIFICATION DAY
This Saturday, June 21, marks the return of Beautification Day—TLCBD’s signature community event and the final celebration of I Love Tenderloin Week.
This year we’ll be celebrating the launch of our inaugural graffiti abatement initiative and the one-year anniversary of our Clean Team Workforce Program, a partnership with San Francisco Public Works that provides job training and supports cleaner, safer streets in the Tenderloin. Beautification Day brings residents, volunteers, and city partners together for a large-scale cleanup, including litter removal, planting greenery, and graffiti abatement across the neighborhood. All participants are invited to join us for a community lunch after the cleanup!

As summer heats up, it’s important to stay aware and prepared. Whether you’re out enjoying events, walking to work, or just spending time in the neighborhood, here are a few quick tips to keep in mind:
- Stay hydrated – Bring water with you, especially on hotter days.
- Look out for each other – If you see someone who may need help, alert a nearby ambassador or call 311 for non-emergency services.
- Report graffiti or dumping – Help us keep the neighborhood clean by reporting issues through 311 or directly to TLCBD staff.
- Keep personal items secure – Be aware of your surroundings and avoid leaving valuables unattended.
- Be mindful at intersections – Use crosswalks and stay alert—especially during high foot traffic events like I Love Tenderloin Week.
WELCOME, TLCBD SUMMER INTERNS
This month, we welcomed the third cohort of TLCBD interns through our partnership with the San Francisco Department of Children, Youth and Their Families (DCYF). These young adults will gain hands-on experience in the Tenderloin, learning the ins and outs of grassroots organizing, government dynamics, public affairs, communications, and more. It’s a chance to build real-world skills while contributing to the neighborhood’s ongoing efforts—and we’re proud to help shape the leaders of tomorrow.
