Winter Family Festival
December 10, 4-6PM
Following the success of their Fall Family Festival in October, Salvation Army is hosting the Tenderloin Winter Family Festival at 240 Turk Street, in the Kroc Center Gym. The festival will include a number of family-friendly activities, including games, treats and ornament-making, as well as a holiday movie viewing.
La Cocina Holiday Market
December 11, 11AM – 6PM
The La Cocina Holiday Market Fundraiser is a gift fair and fundraising event to shop local and small this holiday season, celebrate with the local Tenderloin community and support La Cocina’s mission to build a more equitable food industry. It will also include live music, delicious bites from marketplace chefs, festive beverages by Fluid Cafe Cooperative and seasonal cocktails by La Paloma. This family-friendly event will have winter craft stations and you can capture all the fun in a holiday photo booth. Tenderloin Kwanzaa Event
December 13, 1-4PM
Cheryl Shanks, Life in the Arts and The Village Project have come together to host the Tenderloin Kwanzaa Event at the Tenderloin Museum. Residents are invited to enjoy a number of traditional Afro-centric vendors, and the event will also include a special Kwanzaa ceremony from 2-2:30PM.
4th Annual Holiday Tree Lighting
December 15, 5-7PM
Tenderloin People’s Congress and TNDC are hosting the fourth annual tree lighting ceremony at Boeddeker Park. Attendees will include Mayor London Breed, CA State Senator Scott Wiener, D6 Supervisor Matt Haney, and a special visit from Santa Claus! Attendees are welcome to join in-person or via Zoom.
Winter Wonderland
December 16, 3-6PM
We’ve partnered with La Voz Latina to hold our Winter Wonderland event at Sgt. Macaulay Park! Tenderloin families are welcome to join for pictures with Santa, holiday treats and fun activities. Families can also sign up for children’s presents on a first come, first serve basis.
Play Streets Pop-Up
December 18, 11:30PM-3:30PM
Next Saturday, Liveable Cities will be holding a special pop-up edition of their regular Play Streets event. Families are welcome to come to Larkin Street for free bike lessons, raffles and an interactive drumming circle, as well as holiday-themed portraits!
