SFMTA will implement a 4-block temporary project on Jones Street, from O’Farrell Street to Golden Gate Avenue for residents to have more pedestrian space in the Tenderloin while maintaining physical distance. The TLCBD, and several Tenderloin community groups have been partnering with the City and SFMTA in the effort to create these programs—including the Central City SRO Collaborative, Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation, and the Tenderloin People’s Congress.
The new “pedestrian spaces” were announced by Mayor London Breed and Supervisor Matt Haney on Friday as a way to support residents and businesses in the neighborhood, which has been hard-hit by the virus. Read more via SF Chronicle.
