TLCBD, in partnership with Tenderloin Equitable Development Project (TEDP) and Tenderloin Merchants Association (TMA), has helped facilitate a total of 68, $2000.00 mini grants directly to small businesses.
The grants were part of the greater citywide Covid-19 small business support efforts made possible through partnership with Mayor London Breed and the Office of Economic and Workforce Development.
The mini grants program was designed to provide financial support of $1,000 to $10,000 to family-run businesses, owner operated businesses, entrepreneurs of color, and other enterprises in historically underserved communities. These businesses included salons, barbershops, flower shops, gift shops, independent contractors and many others that were severely impacted when they had to close or reduce operations.
Businesses in Tenderloin and surrounding areas were eligible for grants up to $2000.00. TLCBD, through its partnerships provided outreach, education, application assistance, processing and disbursement. A total of 68 small businesses received $2000.00 each during this phase of the program.
TLCBD is hard at work in securing more funding for our small businesses. Businesses that applied and were unable to receive funding in the first round will automatically be entered as applicants for any future phase of funding.
TLCBD’s Economic Opportunity Program supports merchants, small businesses, and community members through direct support services, partnership, and resources.
