Diane Evans is a Tenderloin neighbor and proud of it! Living at Curry Senior Center, Diane first moved here in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina. She shares with us what she loves about the Tenderloin, as well as a call to action to help people.
“One of the MANY things I love about the Tenderloin is that we are the United Nations of people right here. We have people from everywhere. We have celebrations and festivals year-round that honor all our different cultures. Every evening at 7pm I open my window, beat on a pan with a spoon and project out ‘thank you Marilyn Market, thank you taqueria, thank you fearless* hardware store, thank you TL Market, thank you EVERYONE who works and helps us here in the Tenderloin. We appreciate YOU! I love me some Tenderloin.”
“What the Tenderloin needs right now is to help save lives, get people off the street, get people jobs…real jobs…help folks struggling with addictions.”
