TLCBD CLEAN Operations Updates
Update 3/23/20—TLCBD Clean Operations is returning with modified service to account for social distancing. Our team members will prioritize safety in accordance with SF Department of Public Health recommendations during the shelter-in-place, while also providing essential services.
This will mean that team members will not access areas where people, who are congregating against the Shelter-in-Place Health Order recommendations, make it difficult or impossible to maintain 6 feet of social distancing.
Team members will also maintain social distance when together in the office, during short briefings. Our managers and leads will stagger our deployment accordingly.
Additionally, we are urging the City to mitigate the street homelessness crisis occurring throughout San Francisco, and in particular, on Tenderloin sidewalks. We urge our City leaders and public agencies to shelter our unhoused neighborhoods in non congregate settings, including but not limited to hotels, and safe open spaces with hygiene and sanitation services.
7 ways you can help the TLCBD Clean Team, please share:
-
Show love from a distance—wave ‘hello’ but don’t high-five.
-
Use public trashcans. We’re working on getting more! In the meantime, please don’t litter. And if you need a trash bag, ask our team members while maintaining your distance. We will provide if we can.
-
Hold it, please use one of the public restrooms. Map of pit stops and hand washing stations here.
-
Pick up after your dog. Seriously, always pick up after your pet.
-
Cross to the other side of the street—if you see our pressure washers cleaning a block, cross safely to the other side of the street if you are able. This will help us maintain social distancing and enable us to cover more ground throughout the day.
-
Donate masks, gloves, or other sanitation supplies. Contact info below.
-
Provide team lunch AND support a local business: Please consider making a donation to support our team members. TLCBD staff will work with local businesses to provide catered lunches (average of $100-200 per lunch). Make a tax deductible donation here.
We will continue to monitor the situation, listen to our team members’ and make the best decisions possible during this difficult time.
Our Downtown Streets Team operations will continue to be disrupted during this time. You can support our DST team members here.
