As the senior population is set to grow, (with nearly 30 percent of San Franciscans expected to be age 60 or older by 2030), Governor Gavin Newsom has called for California to create a “Master Plan for Aging,” in recognition of the fact that the state’s over-65 population is set to double in the next decade, to 8.6 million people.
