TNDC’s Community Organizing department will be celebrating International Friendship Day on Wednesday, July 31st from at Boeddeker Park at 1-3:30 – a day that honors the struggles that youth face all over the world. The purpose of the event is to promote unity, peace and friendship between people of different ethnic backgrounds. More than 13 organizations/groups will be tabling at the event. Join in for family-friendly fun, including games, prizes, and performances from neighborhood groups. All are welcome!
July’s Tenderloin Lunch Passport Campaign, go out to lunch and win $$$.
In line with International Friendship Day—and through a collaboration with TNDC, the Tenderloin People’s Congress, and Tenderloin Equitable Development Project (TEDP)—there is an International Friendship day Passport Campaign! The campaign starts July 1st and is designed to encourage TL residents and workers to eat at local restaurants. Every time you spend a minimum $7.50 at one of the fourteen participating restaurants you will receive a stamp (really a unique sticker) in your passport book (which you can grab at the TLCBD office at 512 Ellis or at the TNDC office). If you shop at more than 10 restaurants you will be entered into a raffle drawing for 3 $100 gift cards and if you shop at a minimum 9 than you will be entered into a raffle for five $20 gift cards. The raffle will take place during the International Friendship Day Celebration at July 31, 3pm-6pm.
Participating lunch spots include: Happy Doughnuts, Emos, Yemen Kitchen, Un Cafecito, Z’Zoul, Newas, Old Siam, Kusina ni Tess, Mom Banh Mi, Tikka Masala, Chico’s Pizza, Tadu, El parce Café, El Tesoro Taqueria.
