Zine Making at COUNTERPULSE
Date: Firday, June 7, 3-5pm
Location: CounterPulse, 80 Turk Street
Joel and Dany work for San Francisco Suicide Prevention and first collaborated on a safety plan zine when Dany joined the hotline in the summer of 2018. They have a passion for peer support, and using creative practice as a tool for support.
Join Joel and Dany this Block Fest and collectively doodle and design and zine to help us become a healthier version of ourselves.

The Center for New Music (C4NM) fosters contemporary music’s growth by giving practicing artists access to professional resources and expertise, and by providing them with opportunities for sharing knowledge and exploring new ideas. On evenings and weekends, C4NM presents concerts of all types of new creative music, from contemporary classical to avant-garde, to new jazz, and more.

From live music to magic, find a little bit of everything at SF’s premier indie arts venue. PianoFight is a community-driven indy arts venue that takes pride in partnering with local artists to make great shows, mouth watering eats and delicious cocktails adding up to a uniquely San Francisco experience. Piano Fight includes two intimate theaters and cabaret stage that hosts music, comedy, plays, dance, film screenings, drag, magic, variety shows and more, while the restaurant and bar serves up new American bites and classic cocktails.

Mark your calendars! The next SF First Thursday Art Walk is set for Thursday, June 6th. Come check out the multifaceted display of color and imagination. Make sure to visit their website for a list of participating galleries and to download the map. Over 20 galleries and art spaces bringing together the arts and culture of the surrounding Lower Polk and Tenderloin communities.

Tilden Tuesday Art Reception at TILDEN HOTEL
Location: Tilden Hotel

Championing love and LGBT Pride Month, Tilden Hotel welcomes local non-binary trans artist Eric Dyer in its upcoming two-month artist showcase on the ground floor of the hotel. Free to enjoy by the public and hotel guests, the Tilden Hotel rotating art series shines a light on San Francisco’s spirited creativity and engaging community while directly supporting local artists. Dyer’s oil on canvas paintings, inspired by walks around San Francisco and personal experiences, will be on display through July. To kick off the two-month residency, Tilden Hotel will host a casual welcome reception on Tuesday, June 4 from 5-8 p.m. in the lobby to honor Dyer in what is known as Tilden Tuesday. The showcase will extend to the hotel’s open-air backyard space, where there will be a bar and lit fire pit. Open to all, the night features complimentary elevated bar bites and beverages crafted by The Douglas Room, the hotel’s signature restaurant and bar. Eyeing a piece of art to bring home? Take your pick from Dyer’s featured collection with proceeds directly benefiting the artist.
