When: January 9 – 26, 2019
Where: Multiple Locations, Cutting Ball Theater (277 Taylor Street)
As part of Cutting Ball Theater’s 20th Season, they are reprising its original docu-play, The Tenderloin Tour. The Tenderloin Tour opens on January 9 and runs through January 26. Performances will be hosted at community sites throughout the Tenderloin neighborhood such as Glide Memorial Church, Boeddeker Park, the San Francisco Public Library, and the Tenderloin Museum as well as Cutting Ball Theater’s own venue. People, Paper, Power: Building Community through the Tenderloin Times
Date: December 22-March 2019 | Opening Reception January 27
Location: JCCSF, Katz Snyder Gallery
Like the diverse neighborhood from which it grew, The Tenderloin Times made room for all. In its pages were the words and faces of senior citizens and sex workers, parolees and recovering addicts, people experiencing homelessness and newly arrived war refugees.
This exhibition was inspired by The Tenderloin Museum’s special exhibit, Voice of the City: The Tenderloin Times, 1977-94 and was done in partnership with the Tenderloin Museum and Hospitality House.
