On Saturday, July 21, we had a great morning working with our Hyde Street neighbors who launched a weekly volunteer cleaning effort, focusing now on Hyde Street. The effort is about more than cleaning, it brings together neighbors in an effort build community, address safety concerns, and be one of several areas of focus for the newly formed Lower Hyde Street Association (LOHSA). Before heading out, Adam Leising, LOHSA’s lead organizer, addressed volunteers, thanking them and reminding them to be safe, to work with compassion and love, and above all to have fun. It was quite inspiring for TLCBD staff and Clean Team members to connect with the neighbors and to see others take notice. Big thanks to Adam and the LOHSA crew for your neighborhood pride.
If you’d like to learn more about LOHSA’s efforts, attend the next monthly meeting on August 15th at 7pm, Emperor Norton’s Boozeland (510 Larkin Street).
