SF Chronicle food writer Sara Fritsche reports on Esan Classic (739 Larkin), the latest venture from chef Tom Silargorn of Ler Ros.
Word from the restaurant is Silargorn developed the concept after travelling through Esan with “longtime Lers Ros cook, Chanon Hutasingh, who oversees the day-to-day operations in the kitchen while Silargorn continues to focus on Lers Ros.”
While Silargorn’s flagship Ler Ros has expanded throughout San Francisco, his commitment to the Tenderloin has shown steadfast with friendships, family, and involvement at several Larkin Street locales including Pak Nam and Lapats. Silargorn’s tells the Chronicle he’s working to forge a partnership with other area restaurants for a project called Eat Tenderloin.
One of the neighborhood banners reads, Around here, we tend to support our business owners. It could easily read, Around here, our business owners support the community. Eat Tenderloin sounds like an initiative to get behind.
