Two opportunities to share your vision for SFMTA | San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency‘s Safer Taylor Street Project.
The Safer Taylor Street Project is a critical component of San Francisco’s Vision Zero goal to eliminate all traffic deaths by year 2024. This initiative aims to tame streets with higher collision rates to prevent pedestrian related incidents. Starting this spring, the SFMTA will be collaborating with Taylor Street residents, businesses, community and advocacy groups to develop a new vision for Taylor Street between Market and Sutter Streets that improves safety for all users.
In addition to the workshops held August 23 or 24th, everyone is invited to experience what a Safer Taylor Street may look and feel like on August 30th along Taylor Street when the folks from SFMTA will be bringing out prototypes as part of a tactical urbanism event. Examples include such traffic calming and pedestrian improvements such as seating, greenery, and bike lanes.
