TL Youth Organize 'Unity Fundraiser'

Youth from Boys and Girls Club Tenderloin Clubhouse have worked together to produce an eclectic arts showcase as part of a fundraiser for the Keystone Club, a leadership group of youth ages 14-18. This event offers an in-depth look at the Tenderloin through the eyes of our Teens.  Art, performances, a Ted Talk-like presentation, among other activities will spearhead a night of community connectivity.

Supervisor Launches Fundraising Campaign For Tenderloin Fire Victims [Hoodline]

Supervisor Kim's office along with La Voz Latina (with support from the Tenderloin community by way of donations) have been working directly with the families affected and displaced by the fire which took place at 545 O'Farrell on November 30th. Seventy Tenderloin neighbors, many of them working class families including children with special needs, have been affected. At publication time, the "2017 Tenderloin Fire Victims Fund" GoFundMe has raised $31,156.00 through 154 donors. We've received word that Twitter has pledged an additional $2,500.

Officer Elia is Our Neighborhood Hero this Month, Benefit Planned for 11/29

Officer Elia Lewin-Tankel is our honorary Neighborhood Hero of the Month for November. On Monday, he was transferred Santa Clara Valley Medical Center brain injury unit to continue his recovery. Officers lined an overpass to salute him as he commuted south. A benefit with drinks, silent auction, and music is planned for November 29th and Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

TNDC's 25th Annual Pool Toss is October 11th, Impacting 240 TL Youth

By far the splashiest fundraiser of the year is back for its 25th edition. The #PoolToss is held at the historically rocking Phoenix Hotel with local leaders taking the plunge into the pool to raise funds in support of TNDC's Tenderloin After-School Program (#TASPkids) which impacts the lives of 240 youth every year.
