Safe Passage works to build a culture of safety, helping people feel safe and be safe through Education, Involvement, and Visibility. The program is strengthened by our volunteers, who grow our community effort while experiencing a sense of connection, pride, and direct impact.

We want to send a BIG thank you to our recent volunteers from MicrosoftIterable, and St. Ignatius College Preparatory (via Faithful Fools).

Want to get involved? Support the TLCBD's neighborhood programs by donating to Invest Tenderloin or volunteer with the Safe Passage program. Volunteer opportunities can take place one time or for a longer, more regular duration. We are happy to work with you to find an opportunity that best suits your needs, skills, and wishes.

Volunteering with Safe Passage not only helps to build a culture of safety in the Tenderloin, it is a direct impact experience that will not only have you feeling good about yourself, but offers a chance to connect with Tenderloin residents and families, changing how you experience the neighborhood.

As one of our recent volunteers said, "I don't think I'll ever look at the Tenderloin the same. I feel safer here after volunteering with Safe Passage."

Watch this video from KQED and hear what Safe Passage Corner Captains say about the work they do here.

In addition to volunteering with Safe Passage, we are always willing to work with with you to develop a volunteer experience that best utilizes your skills and aspirations including in-kind pro bono services. Contact Lorraine@tlcbd.org to learn more about 'outside the box' opportunities.

Want to support the TLCBD's neighborhood programs to improve quality of lives in the neighborhood? Donate to Invest Tenderloin, it's about people.
