Police step in when SF shelters can't help homeless mom and tot [SF Chronicle]

Tenderloin Station officers made the news after the 4th of July weekend when word reached SF Chronicle that they’d stepped in to help a young mother and her toddler from sleeping on the streets. This heartwarming story of human kindness also highlights a brutal reality for far too many children and parents in San Francisco.
