Fundraiser for SFPD officer struck by fleeing suspect raises $39K [SF Examiner]

Following the tragic news of Tenderloin Station Officer Elia Lewin-Tankel's serious injury suffered the line of duty on October 18th, many have expressed a desire to show their support to Officer Lewin-Tankel and his family in this time.

SF Examiner brings word of a GoFundMe, which has garnered some 40k of a 60k goal as of posting time.

According to the Examiner:

"The fundraiser is for Lewin-Tankel’s wife, Shideh Etaat, a public school teacher at Mission High School whose paid-time off is running short, according to McEachern [whom set up the page and has been providing updates to friends, colleagues, and community members].
